Paul Berger and Aaron Janowsky once said that there are two rules in science:
Rule #1: Have fun
Rule #2: Get the money
We follow Rule #1 regularly of course, but now we’re happy to announce that we adhere to Rule #2 as well. Today, we received the official news that our lab will a receive five-year R01 grant from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The objective of the grant is to determine the role of environmental stimuli in nicotine’s effects on alcohol drinking. In addition, we will use electrophysiological and optogenetic techniques to dissect the neural circuits underlying these effects. We are extremely excited to continue work on this project!
